From Out of the Darkness Comes the Light

My hairdresser and friend, Shelly, ask if I would take some head shots for her.  She is a hairdresser, as I mentioned, but she recently passed her realtor exam and joined a real estate company where she needed some not-so-hair-dresser head shots.

 Case in point.

Case in point.

It all started out pretty routinely.  She hired me.  We came up with the day.  I added said day to calendar.  Then the rain and cold temps hit. Mind you, we live in Michigan, so this shouldn't be a surprise.  However, we all just want it to be summer, after 6 months of gray.  So we decided to re-schedule.  Shelly confessed that she wasn't really feeling up to it anyway, but then I discovered why.  It wasn't really the lack of vitamin D - it was the lack of sugar.  Shelly dedicated the next 30 days to life without sugar!  Let me repeat that.  Life without sugar!  No wonder she wasn't feeling up to it!

I really had my work cut out for me.  I needed to take some business card, marketing-worthy head shots of someone who was being denied sugar. So, I did what any professional would do - I went to work.  The session started out pretty smoothly, but by the end, we were giggling, smiling and chatting like little school girls.  I was pumped and couldn't wait to get my photos on to the computer.  Later that evening Shelly texted me to thank me for boosting her mood and turning her awful day around.  She was happy, excited and out of her terrible, lack-of-sugar mood.
