Okay, so it not exactly the 4th of July, but who's counting?
My kids and I love to explore, which is perfect when my husband, John, has to work. He is not a big explorer. If we were part of the Endurance Expedition, I would be a female version of Shackleton. The kids would be my trusty, loving and cuddly dogs, although, I would NOT eat them (!!) and John would be whoever was the most realistic one on the boat. He keeps us grounded, and I keep his life interesting. We make a well balanced team.
One warm, sunny evening, a short time ago, John was at work, so the kids and I went on an "expedition"... to the cornfield kitty-corner from us (okay, so not all expeditions can be epic). We had a great time (carefully) walking through the endless rows of corn. And although I was tempted to pick an ear or two, I didn't. I did however have a ball getting some shots of my boys. My kids tend to be huge hams for the camera.
Although my kids are well past my knees (and the corn too, for that matter), they still melt my heart (my kids that is, not the corn) and always will. I am glad we had a chance to make some memories and next time, we are dragging John along with us!
If you could go on any adventure imaginable, what would it be? Here's to exploring the planet, and beyond!
