I was in the car today, listening to the radio. The DJ begins discussing a poll taken by brides-to-be about the three things they stress about the most, before their wedding day: "Pinterest" decor, the Best Man being on his best behavior and photography.
My husband and I have been married for (almost) 9 years, so Pinterest wasn't even in existence yet. Luckily, I have an extremely creative mom! She was there to bounce ideas off of, because let's face it, Fiances don't really care a whole lot about centerpieces - at least mine didn't - he doesn't even know what a (non-smartphone) charger is, bless his heart! I guess I was pretty lucky, because sometimes, tons of ideas can drive you to nuptial-planning insanity! Now, if you have a wedding planner, then you have nothing to worry about in this department!
Let's face it girls, we have all been to a wedding where the Best Man was not on his best behavior. My husband's brother was his Best Man, and he is pretty low-key, so no worries there. However, some of the groomsmen, got a bit wild, but it was towards the end of the night, so it didn't bother me. In fact, I was so excited the whole day I don't think anything could have ruined it. Just try to relax and not worry about the Groomsmen. If they are truly being unruly, others will notice and be happy to police them for you. Just smile and keep dancing (and kissing!)!
Photography was a really important part of our wedding. I knew I wanted a photographer I could trust and would do an amazing job. We met with our photographer a couple times before our wedding, so we knew we would feel comfortable with him on our big day. I really liked that we didn't have to worry about anything. He was always in control and let us know when it was time to cut the cake and do the first dance, etc. Because let's be honest, we had no idea when we were supposed to do what. We were able to just enjoy our big day, as it should be. As a photographer, my main goal is to help the bride and groom feel relaxed and happy. If I can do this for them, then it shows in the photos and at the end of the day, everyone is loving life!
So, what are your stresses as you are planning your wedding? I would love to be a empathetic ear!
