My husband and I were in the kitchen chatting about our 10-year anniversary (which is this October!!!), when he turned to me and said something that made my jaw drop.
DELAYED GRATIFICATION
Over the past several months I have stayed committed to a worthy cause. I bascially gave up Starbucks and shopping and really all unnecessary spending and instead put that money away for something really spectacular. And on April Fool's Day, it happened. That something spectacular is currently curled up and sleeping on my lap. We got a puppy, a Hungarian Vizsla, to be specific.
HUSBAND OF THE YEAR
Actually, it all happened well before April 1st. When my husband and I were standing in our kitchen discussing our anniversary, my husband turned to me, and what he said that made my jaw drop was... "I have been thinking - you should just get a dog." Like the devout peacemaker that I am, I replied, "but you don't want a dog." He agreed, but said that he knew it would make me and the kids happy and because he loves us so much, he wants us to be happy. I have already sent away for "Husband of the Year" award, which I will proudly display forever!
Getting a puppy was not just a win for me and the kids - now my husband gets a little satisfaction out of watching me have to house-break this one. I love hearing amazing husband stories, what's yours?
Cheers,
Lisa
